Keep on celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and by all means don’t forget to attend the 14th Annual Pug Parade this Saturday! This is one of Sarasota’s most enjoyable events. This year’s Pug Parade is at word-famous St. Armands Circle and has a St. Patrick’s Day theme. There will be costume contests, demonstrations and games. Pre-registration ended March 16, but you can sign your pug up the day of the event for $30, and there’s a $5 discount for each additional pug. Admission is free. The Humane Society requests that spectators bring bagged or canned dog and cat food to assist the shelter animals.
All proceeds from the Pug Parade are used for the HSSC children’s programs such as HUGS and FUR FUN. HUGS is a program for children with special needs and FUR FUN is a “summer program which gives kids hands own interaction with animals.”
