2009 Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix
The 2009 Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix Festival kicks off this week. Organizers hope everyone can make it out to the “Fun in the Sun” this year from June 27 to July 5, 2009.
The Grand Prix is getting ready to celebrate its Silver (25th) Anniversary. More than $14 million has been raised by the Festival to help physically and mentally challenged children and adults. This year proceeds will benefit the Suncoast Foundation for the Handicapped.
2009 Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix Schedule of Events
- Saturday June 27, 2009 – Golf Tournament and Kickoff Party at Heritage Oaks
- Sunday June 28, 2009 – Car Show at Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex
- Wednesday July 1, 2009 – Capt. Keith Colburn (Discovery Channel’s ”Deadliest Catch“) Welcome Reception at Polo Grill Lakewood Ranch
- Thursday July 2, 2009 - Fishing Tournament for Physically and Mentally Challenged, Festival Parade of Boats and Block Party
- Friday July 3, 2009 – Meet and Greet Who’s In the Drivers Seat, World’s Largest Offshore Party, Powerboats by the Bay, Motorcycle Patriotic Souvenir Ride and Bike Show
- Saturday July 4, 2009 – Powerboats by the Bay, Bayfront Fireworks
- Sunday July 5, 2009 – Grand Prix Super Boat Race, Public Race Awards Ceremony at the Sarasota Hyatt
